Golf: ‘McIlroy has found the missing link’

FLORIDA: Rory McIlroy has found the missing link in his game, according to Ryder Cup partner and 2010 US Open champion Graeme McDowell. McIlroy won the Honda Classic to overtake Luke Donald at the top of the world rankings. McDowell said the Northern Irishman had made rapid progress in the last couple of seasons. “McIlroy has much more belief than he had two years ago,” said McDowell. “He wasn’t a standout closer because he didn’t have the putting ability. Now he believes he’s a great putter — that was the missing link.”
