AJK campaign: Three-day polio campaign concludes

DHO said no polio cases were detected in any part of AJK so far.

MIRPUR: A three-day drive to eradicate polio concluded in Mirpur district of Azad Kashmir on Wednesday after about 98 per cent of a fixed target of over 69,000 children under the age of five were administered anti-polio vaccines.

The district drive was part of the country-wide campaign, said District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Muhammad Bashir Chaudhry. Talking to reporters on Wednesday the DHO said no polio cases were detected in any part of AJK so far.

He added that a total of 180 mobile teams of paramedics were constituted in the district to administer polio shots to children.
