Flood relief : Societies meet to plan strategy

Farzhana Naek said that they are struggling to provide purified water, shelters and livelihood to the flood-hit people

KARACHI: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Sindh organised a meeting to come up with a strategy to distribute relief goods in Sindh. Chairperson Farzhana Naek said that they are struggling to provide purified water, shelters and livelihood to the flood-hit people of 2010 and 2011. A campaign against polio and dengue has also been launched in Gadap Town. The meeting was attended by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Norwegian Red Cross (NRC), Danish Red Cross (DRC) and Swiss Red Cross. They said that the IFRC headquarters in Geneva has also launched an appeal to the international community for help.
