SNGC issues notification for 3-day CNG station closure in Punjab

CNG stations will remain closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and reopen at 6 am on Sundays.

PUNJAB: CNG stations in Punjab will remain closed for three days instead of two and a half days, Express 24/7 reported Friday.

The Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) issued a notification on the latest schedule for closure of gas supply to CNG stations across Punjab.

The notification says that CNG stations will remain closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and reopen at 6 am on Sundays.

In response to the move, the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCA) has called an emergency meeting to chalk out their strategy on the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) decision.

The chairman of APCA Ghayas Paracha regretted the government’s move for CNG closure and said that the government had backtracked on its promise despite their commitment of eight months of cooperation.

Paracha rejected the new schedule and warned that CNG associations may decide to close CNG stations across Pakistan at the meeting.

Earlier, in a statement an SNGPL spokesman on Thursday had asked the operators of CNG outlets not to supply gas to vehicles during the scheduled closure, adding action would be taken against those violating the directive.
