Sui Southern Gas says it had forewarned KESC about gas shortage.

Express September 19, 2011

KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Monday said gas supply to one of its power plants had been suspended, Express 24/7 reported.

A KESC spokesperson said that the valves of the pipeline supplying gas to the Korangi Combined Cycle Power Plant had been closed.

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has responded by saying it had forewarned the KESC about impending gas shortage.

The suspension of gas supply has created a power shortage of 220 megawatts in Karachi. More than 200 feeders have been affected.

The KESC has also announced that load shedding duration for industrial and domestic consumers will be increased by up to 10 hours.

jawad | 12 years ago | Reply electricity distribution system of kesc has got line losses beyond economical limits.kunda system is common practice there despite huge quota of total generation of electricity of pakistan reserved for kesc & along with mobile generation plant rented from turkey.solely for kesc. why kesc is not meeting its demand. management of kesc has failed to control its juniors to refrain from their involvement in pilferage of electric power.shameful for kesc authorities.
