Dengue fever: Two dead, 10 hospitalised in DG Khan

Separate wards had been reserved for dengue patients where they were getting free-of-charge medicines.

Two people died from dengue fever and 10 were admitted to Dera Ghazi Khan district headquarters (DHQ) hospital on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Samina Bibi, a resident of Tribal Areas, and Manzoor Nasir. DG Khan executive district officer (health) Dr Pervez said most of the dengue patients belonged to rural areas. He said separate wards had been reserved for dengue patients where they were getting free-of-charge medicines. Emergency has been declared in all public hospitals in the southern districts of the province. Nishter Hospital administration said most patients were Multan residents who had been working in Lahore. Meanwhile, two more patients of dengue fever were admitted to Nishtar hospital on Sunday. Bilal Khan, 36, was a resident of Balochistan and Zuneer, 20, belonged to Model Town, DG Khan.
