Dispute: Chinese engineers attacked

FAISALABAD: Four Chinese engineers were taken to the Allied Hospital for medical aid on Tuesday evening following an attack earlier by villagers in Chak No 6 over a minor dispute. According to details, the Chinese engineers of the construction company CWE were involved in the construction of a small bridge over a canal drain. The construction site was damaged after the release of irrigated water by the villagers for their crops. The engineers allegedly exchanged heated arguments with the villagers over the dispute. In retaliation, infuriated villagers attacked them, causing injuries. The special police security guard of the Chinese engineers, sensing danger, opened aerial firing to disperse the villagers.
