Personality development : Students urged to hone communication skills

UAF head stresses need for having balanced personality to reap benefits

FAISALABAD: Students need to hone their communication and professional skills to tap the growing business potential in the world, said University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad.

He was speaking at a seminar on ‘Personality Development’ organised by the varsity’s physics department on Saturday.

He stressed the need for having a balanced and flexible personality coupled with excellent communication skills to reap the benefits of emerging opportunities.



The students should make a critical analysis of their daily affairs to make their tomorrow better, said Dr Iqrar. He underlined the need to change mind sets as most of the students look for jobs in public sector after graduation.

Speaking on personality development and grooming, Naval Headquarters, Islamabad Deputy Director Dr M Naeem Tariq said personality was the combination of appearance and behaviour that made people distinctive from rest of the individuals.

He urged the participants to overcome their weaknesses and defeat the negative forces from inside as it will help bring a new change in the society. He added motivated people perform exceptionally well than lazy individuals.

He said that our youth, while having an unwavering faith on their skills and abilities should appreciate the good things in their spheres and burn the midnight oil if they want to change the society.

Dr Muhammad Javaid urged the youth to work hard and drive their future with full vigour to play a positive role in the society.

Department of Physics Chairman Dr Yasir Jamil said they are inculcating their students with excellent professional and communication skills that make them shining stars. He added out of 66 selected lecturers by the Punjab Public Service Commission, 17 were from his department.
