ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said no one can damage the stability of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The minister was speaking at a gathering organised by PML-N workers in Shah Allah Ditta near Rawalpindi for its victory in the recently held by-elections.

He said in 1997, Pakistan elected Nawaz Sharif who succeeded in convincing the former Indian prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to accept the reality of Pakistan. He added that Vajpayee promised Nawaz Sharif that he would resolve the Kashmir issue.

Rashid added that in 2013, Nawaz Sharif came to power in a country which was dripped in blood and was plunging into darkness.

He said that Pakistan of 2016 was getting rid of terrorism and power shortages which had extended to 20 hours under the previous government were decreasing.

Rashid added that the current leadership of Pakistan led by Nawaz Sharif was correcting wrongs of the previous governments. He said elements were after Nawaz Sharif because he was bringing the country out of darkness.

He said these people did not stage a sit-in when Pakistan was faced with incidents of terrorism and when a common citizen was not getting transport facilities.

Rashid added that if these steps were ‘crimes’ of Nawaz Sharif then we would continue to commit these crimes.

He said the pain that Nawaz Sharif and the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League could feel for Pakistan, could not be felt by those ‘playing with the bat’.
