Female student bags first position in pre-medical examination

Girls outshine boys, gain top positions in pre-medical, pre-engineering groups

SUKKUR: As usual, female students outshined their male counterparts in the pre-medical and pre-engineering group annual results, which were announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Sukkur on Friday.

Annual results: Boys outshine girls in Matric science examinations

According to a notification issued by the controller of examinations, in the pre-medical group Syeda Maria Batool, daughter of Mohammad Muther Syed, of PakTurk International Schools and Colleges, Khairpur, bagged the first position by securing 966 marks. Cambridge Public Higher Secondary School, Mirpur Mathelo's Noorul Fatima, daughter of Ahmed Bux Soomro, and Sharmeen of Army Public School and College, Sukkur, daughter of Abdul Wahab Pitafi, shared the second position by securing 962 marks each. Mohammad Jan of Government Degree College, Sukkur, son of Jan Mohammad Ansari, came third with 960 marks.



There were 18,084 students registered in the pre-medical group, out of which 18,080 appeared in the examination. Out of this, 1,135 students received A-1 grade, while 3,086 received A grade, 4,689 B grade, 4,051 C grade, 541 D grade and only one student received an E grade. The total number of passing students was 13,503, while 4,554 failed the examinations. The result of 23 students was withheld due to copying and other objections. The pass percentage of male candidates was 70.43%, while that of female candidates was 79.42%. The overall pass percentage was 74.68%.

Engineering group

In the pre-engineering group, Army Public School and College, Pano Aqil's Tooba Naveed, daughter of Naveed Baig, secured the first position with 969 marks, while Iqra Public Higher Secondary School's Gambat's Ehsanullah, son of Mohammad Mehar Narejo, secured the second position with 952 marks. Government Islamia Science College, Sukkur's Syed Wajid Ali, son of SM Akram Naqvi, and Army Public School and College, Sukkur's Fatima Ashfaque, daughter of Mohammad Ashfaque Ahmed Surhio, shared the third position with 950 marks.

The number of registered candidates in the pre-engineering group was 15,994, out of which 15,990 sat for the examinations. Of this, 508 candidates secured A-1 grade, while 2,851 got A grade, 3,803 got B grade, 3,540 got C grade, 595 got D grade and two candidates got E grade. The total number of passing students was 11,299, while 4,668 failed. The result of 23 students was withheld.
