Education for all: BISP enrols 1.3 million children

Rs2.145 billion has been disbursed under the initiative so far

ISLAMABAD: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has enrolled more than 1.3 million children in primary schools in 32 districts under its Waseela-e-Taleem programme during last three years. Under the initiative Rs2.145 billion has been disbursed so far on admission and attendance compliance of children, a BISP official told APP. He said the districts were selected on the basis of infrastructure, geographical representation and urban rural drive. He also said BISP distributed more than Rs250 billion Unconditional Cash Grant (UCG) among 5.3 million families across the country during this time span.
