Party calls Kashmir conference in Islamabad a day before event.

ISLAMABAD: In a dramatic turn of events, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) announced plans to march towards the Wagah border next week in protest against India’s aggressive policies in the disputed territory of Kashmir.

The announcement was made by JI chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday during the party’s Azadi Kashmir march. Sunday’s march was organised to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and against the Indian aggression in Kashmir.

Solidarity with Kashmiris: Indian atrocities condemned

The event kicked off from Liquat Bagh in Rawalpindi and was supposed to end at the Indian Embassy in Islamabad. However, participants gathered at the embassy road close to the Diplomatic Enclave as the roads were blocked.

The JI chief has set July 31 as the marching date for his party. He also revealed that all arrangements have been finalised to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

The JI supremo has also said that before the march his party has called a conference on Kashmir in Islamabad. He said that all religious groups have been invited to finalise the future course of action against Indian aggression.

Haq stated that the time has come that for all religio-political parties to join hands against Indian aggression. He said that New Delhi has stepped its repressive measures and must be stopped through unity.

“JI has invited all religio-political groups on July 29 in Islamabad where Kashmir conference will be held and future course of action will be decided,” said Haq and vowed to continue to support the great cause of Kashmiris.

Against atrocities: JI to hold protests for Kashmir on July 31

According to the JI chief, on July 31 the participants will reach on Lahore and later march towards Wagah border to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir .

He also asked the government to raise the issue in joint session of parliament. Haq also reminded the international community to pay its part and help resolve the issue.

It was seen that during the rally, the participants collected donations for their cause of Kashmir.

Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) chief Sayed Salahuddin also addressed the participants and condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiris while accusing India of ‘genocide’.

Salahuddin said that if Indian continues with the genocide of Kashmiris then his party will also start civil disobedience in Indian Kashmir.

“The international community should open its eyes and play a positive role with impartiality,” he added. He said that nobody can deny the right of Kashmiris and we (Kashmiris) will continue to struggle for our rights.

Pakistan has already raised serious concern over the continued killings in the region and urged Delhi not to use ‘excessive force’ against innocent civilians.

As long as the JI is on the Pakistani side of the border, they can sit, sleep, march, run, kill themselves, kill others or do whatever they want to, Indians do not mind. But try and cross one step into the Indian land, I think you will be getting what you deserved all the time. It will be an excellent lawful excuse for India to do what it ought to have done a long long time ago.

NDA | 7 years ago | Reply Yes, civil society must come forward and support political movement of the Kashmiris. They can not be left alone . They are under subjugation for 200 years . Whether the world likes it or not, Kashmiris are Muslims' baby. Indian are killing them and will destroy the whole people unless Muslims and the world come to thier help.
