RAWALPINDI: Speakers have called for enhanced industry-academia linkages to provide basis for the new talent and innovations to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
They were speaking at an open house and a job fair held at the Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
The event was organised by the PMAS-AAUR’s University Institute of Information Technology aimed at strengthening industry-academia linkages and providing an opportunity to the students to understand market dynamics, trends and demands.
PMAS-AAUR Vice-Chancellor Prof Rai Niaz Ahmad was the chief guest, while Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Chief Coordinator (Monitoring) Adeelur Rehman was the guest of honour at the event.
Prof Ahmad lauded the projects presented by the students, emphasising to further strengthen the linkages to cash in on the opportunities especially in information technology (IT) and science sectors.
The prime minister’s chief coordinator said that the open house had proved that Pakistan had no dearth in talent and the nation’s future was bright as it had such bright, intelligent minds for the solutions of the core problems.
