FIA arrests : Man with fake ID held at airport

Three human traffickers arrested in separate raids in Rawalpindi.

ISLAMABAD: A man bearing a fake national identity card was arrested from Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Friday.

The suspect, Zaabit Gul, was pulled from a Saudi Arabia-bound flight for possessing a fake Pakistani NIC and Pakistani passport.

The arrest was made on a tip-off by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

Gul has been shifted to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s Anti Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) for further investigation.

Meanwhile, three human traffickers were arrested from two separate raids in Rawalpindi.

The FIA conducted raids in the city and arrested three human traffickers and recovered 64 passports, fake documents and stamps from their possession.

The suspects, Izhar Hussain and Khaliq Khan, were arrested from Chandani Chowk and are said to have taken
millions of rupees from people on the pretext of sending them to Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

FIA officials recovered 10 passports and other bogus documents from their possession.

Moreover, during another raid in Satellite Town, FIA arrested a human trafficker, Sajid Akbar, and recovered 54 passports and other documents from his possession.

Drug smuggling

Customs officials on Thursday foiled two separate attempts to smuggle drugs abroad at Benazir Bhutto International Airport. The drug mules were booked for Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

M Siddique and Noor Khan, booked for Qatar and Saudi Arabia respectively, were arrested after 1.8 kg of heroin and 1.114 kg of methamphetamines were found in their luggage
