Deadly alliance: ‘Banned outfits plan to hit high-value targets’

Published: January 26, 2011

Haqqani, Jundallah, LeJ and Harkatul Jihadul Islami unite; top-flight Shia leaders and Iranian diplomats in particular danger, say spy agencies.

LAHORE: Reports by two separate intelligence agencies have revealed that banned militant outfits are planning to carry out potential suicide attacks against high-value targets across the country. The targets are said to include ministers, chief ministers, the Iranian embassy and prominent Shia Leaders.

A premier federal Intelligence agency has revealed in its report that the Sirajuddin Haqqani group, Jundallah, Laskar-e-Jhangvi and Harkatul Jihadul Islami have united with regards to carrying out potential suicide attacks across the country, The Express Tribune has learnt.

A joint secret meeting was held in Muzaffarabad on Januray 5, 2011 at the residence of Chhota Ilyas, leader of a banned outfit. In the meeting three groups of suicide bombers were constituted. Reports state that 13 suicide bombers will be with commander Hafiz Lieq, 11 suicide bombers with Hafiz Khursheed while seven suicide bombers will be with Bashir Alam (code name).

Reports further stated that the participants of the meeting formed closer links with the Sirajuddin Haqqani group; targets for the initial attacks were also decided at the meeting.

Another report by another intelligence agency said that a special squad consisting of six suicide bombers has been assigned the task of assassinating the three chief ministers and their close relatives.

Harkatul Jihadul Islami chief Qari Saifullah, who was detained in Rawalpindi jails till some time back, has entered Punjab with two accomplices, Mir Murtaza and Doctor (code name). They have brought an explosive-laden vehicle with them and their target is said to be Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. The group intends on attacking the convoy of the PM on his visit to south Punjab, according to the report.

Qari Saifullah was arrested by security agencies along with his three sons in Ferozewal, near Lahore. Since August 2010 he was kept at an undisclosed location in Chishtian tehsil of Punjab; he was set free in the first week of December, sources said.

Qari Saifullah Akhtar was arrested and extradited from the United Arab Emirates on August 07, 2004 on charges of plotting a suicide attack on General Musharraf in Rawalpindi in December 2003. He was detained for two years and nine months by agencies but was thereafter released without the filing of any criminal charges. Qari Saifullah is the alleged mastermind of the October 18, 2007 suicide attack on the procession of Benazir Bhutto in Karachi. On February 26, 2008, Saifullah was detained by the Musharraf regime for interrogation into Bhutto’s assassination.

On March 2008, Qari Saifullah was released on bail by the Sindh High Court but was arrested the same day under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance and shifted to a safe house in Karachi. Two months later on June 8, 2008 he was released by the Sindh home department as the term of detention set under the MPO had expired.

The banned oufits have prepared plans to carry out high profile terrorist activities and intelligence agencies have asked the police to enhance security of all high profile targets. Since all these banned outfits are Sunni the top flight Shia leaders and Iranian diplomats are said to be in particular danger.

All because of petro dollars and ideology from our beloved and brotherly and friendly muslim country who has brought our country to this boiling point. They financed and exported hatred and only hatred coupled with an extremist mind who are willing to blow themselves and killing innocent men, women, and children if they are not from their school of thought or sect. Only in the name of God. And NO CHANNEL or TALK SHOW is ready to discuss or talk openly about those groups and their sponsored country/countries. They called these ppl/groups “Askariat Pasand” instead of Terrorists. What a Hypocrisy and what a Tragedy!! Our Media will be equally responsible to bring down this country into pieces (God Forbid) due to this disintegration of this nation and destroying fabric of Unity, Faith and Discipline. God Bless Pakistan. Recommend

In Pakistan Sunni Brelvi’s Eid MiladUnNabbi (SAW) are targeted, their darbars are targeted, theirs mosques, and also Shia’s mosques, Imam Bargahs and even funerals. Let aside target killing of individuals from these sects which out number everything else.

ONLY one thing never happened: A Deo Bandi mosque, procession, even the mega congregation of RaiWind never had security threats… why………….which means it is not someone against muslims in general.

And if we look around then in the entire Muslim world, a Sunni, Barelvi or Shia cannot be a Taliban, they cannot join Al Qaeda, they are not and cannot be a part of Lashka-E-Jhangvi, Sipa-E-Sahaba or Jundallah. Whether Pakistan or the rest of the world, only these groups are ones causing destruction and defaming the name of Islam. Then every Muslim has to defend Islam because of the deeds of these groups by saying “no no actually Islam does not preach killing and it respects human and their rights and killing of innocent is wrong Islam………..”

Now if we look at the ingredients of these groups then they all belong to only one sect, the DeoBandi sect used by the saudi wahabis who are running the KILL Campaign. My dear all, it is not the Wahabi and Deo Bandi Islam in which killing of innocent Muslims/people is haram. To them everything is halal if they deem fit. And the irony of the time is that no body points a finger at them. Their religious and political leaders do not even condemn such killings. They just say, someone is trying to create Shia-Sunni rift, or the general excuse, it is a reaction of drone attacks, specially the Jamat E Islami.

Let us separate them from us. Let us not take the burden of their ill deeds on the entire muslim ummah.
Their motto is “Only Kills a Kalmago” . Just see, in Afghanistan, Taliban came into being when Russia was already out and they started genocide of Afghanis who were Kalmago, then Shias and Sunnis are targeted by Lashkar-E-Jhangvi and Sipa-E-Sahaba in Pakistan.

Saudis are the most cunning and ruthless of all the Muslims. If they find a hint of Taliban in their own country, they make sure they eradicate it from the very root. And this is exactly what they did right after 9/11. At the same time they keep funding and promoting them in Pakistan. The recent wiki leaks shows the level of interference of Saudis Sheiks in Pakistani Politics. Nothing comes free. If they sell cheap or free fuel, they redeem it with Pakistani blood. If USA gives more money than Saudis and then if interferes with our politics we hate USA and if Saudis drop some oil coated peanuts and step in, we praise them? Is this not Hippocracy?

Let us seek the, I won’t call Moderate or Enlightened….. I would rather call them Muslim voices among this Deo-Bandi and Wahabi sect. What they are becoming is not Islam. STOP IT. You people are puppets in the hands of agencies like CIA and Mosad. The most of the educated class who by birth belongs to this sect are cowardly quite because they are sure no one is going to hurt them. They don’t do conflict and does not want to go into this debate. But silence at this stage is support. When they go and offer prayer behind these criminals, they attest them give them their bait.

Today if you go out and look around then in front of a barelvi(sunni) and shia mosque you will see a lot of security arrangements but not in front of deo bandi mosque. Why? are they not taking caution because these are bad times in Pakistan? The answer is yes, they are concerned, but they know the opposite sects will not fall below a certain level of humanity and will not attack a mosque, a level to which the people of their own sect can easily fall.

At the end, I am sorry for such a sectarian description, but this thing is sectarian. This is a problem with only one sect and if we keep asking everyone for moderation, patience and support, we simply can’t help it. It has been tried for many years now. And in fact this is what these groups want to hear…. only one sect does destroys peace and everyone to blame.

With these Talibans and Lashkars around, any country would be an idiot to send its military to destroy Pakistan.

    Dear Friends,
    Its a simple equation:
Petro dollars from middle east + wahabi/salafi/deobandi seminaries in Pakistan + Military/Intelligence agencies protection = anti shia/anti barelvi/ anti everything wahabi/salafi militants. Recommend

    Mr Yawar
There is no agreement or understanding between Haqqani network and the local militants to work inside Pakistan .For what is happening in Pak since 2001 the credit goes to mush-bush policies . Have u heared about TTP before 2003 and before mush sending Pak army to fight its own people in the tribal belt ? let us name and see the things as it is . what is happening is simply a reaction and not the main cause of violance.
No justification and no legal backgroud for pak army / govt to allow the US drones to kill pushtons .
You should fix the causes of violance before asking the victims to stay calm and to die in the name of national interest .
If we agree ( and I do agree with u ) that no justification for killing of innocent ppl by TTP or militant groups anywerRecommend
