Aisamul Haq crashes out of Australian open

Pakistan tennis ace lost both his third round men's doubles match and the first mixed doubles match.

MELBOURNE: Indo-Pak express Aisamul Haq Qureshi and Rohan Bopanna crashed out of the Australian Open men's doubles tournament on Monday.

The match was drawn one set all before Nanad Zimonjic of Serbia and Michael Llodra of France defeated them 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 in their round three men's doubles match on the eighth day of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne.

Michael Llodra of France and Nenad Zimonic of Serbia, were ranked eighth in the tournament compared to Qureshi and Bopanna, who were seeded 10th.

Earlier, Qureshi and Bopanna had defeated the French pair of Jeremy Chardy and Arnaud Clement to advance to the third round round of the men’s double.

Early exit

Qureshi also lost his mixed doubles match in the first round of the tournament. He was partnering with Czech Republic’s Kveta Peschke.

Peschke and Aisam lost to the unseeded Australian pair of Rennae Stubbs and Chris Guccione who won the match 3-6, 6-3, 10-5. Qureshi and Peschke were ranked fifth in the tournament.

SJ | 13 years ago | Reply Dear Sports Editor. Please check all the facts before publishing. On first glance 27 minutes time frame for three set game looks dodgy. It took less than 27 minutes for Qureshi & Co to win first set, then they lost the other two sets in total match time of 133 minutes.
