PESHAWAR: Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) Chief Executive Zahid Maqsood Sheikh Thursday inaugurated the mechanised quarry of a valuable stone, Black Granite, in Mansehra district. Sheikh was confident the project would contribute to national economy and achieve the objective of developing the marble and granite sector of Pakistan. “The heavy earthmoving machinery on the project can produce greater yield than other machines in the market.” Sheikh added that by introducing mechanised quarrying technology, PASDEC is committed to transforming quarries presently using conventional methods of blasting for extraction. He also told that PASDEC machinery can be rented by the sector’s quarry owners. Mechanisation, he said, will reduce wastage and increase profits.
