Naval College Attack: Terror convict’s appeal dismissed

A deputy prosecutor opposed the appeal saying that the witnesses had identified the appellant

LAHORE:
A division bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday dismissed an appeal by a man convicted of a role in a Naval War College suicide attack case. Muhammad Nadeem submitted through his counsel that a trial court had awarded him life imprisonment without sufficient evidence being put up by the prosecution. The lawyer said the prosecution had not produced a single witness against his client and that nobody had identified him. He prayed to the court to set aside the sentence and acquit Nadeem. A deputy prosecutor opposed the appeal saying that the witnesses had identified the appellant. He also said explosive material was recovered from Nadeem.  Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan then dismissed the appeal.
