Four beat up polio staff
The suspect destroyed polio vaccine and snatched Rs1,700 from the worker
MULTAN:
Jalalpur Saddar police have registered a case against four people who allegedly beat up polio vaccination workers in three incidents on Wednesday.
Police said polio worker Abdul Razzaq, son of Abdul Ghafar, was performing duty in Theklan village when two men, Akhtar and Ismail, told him to stop the work. Police said the suspects beat Razzaq up, destroyed the vaccine drops and fled.
In another incident, Saifal beat up polio worker Sabir Khan, son of Gaman Khan, in Sabra village. He also snatched Khan’s mobile phone. In yet another incident, Ghulam Mustafa beat up polio worker Sohail, son of Allah Bakhsh, in Durabpur village. The suspect destroyed polio vaccine and snatched Rs1,700 from the worker. Police registered separate cases against the suspects under Sections 353, 186, 379, 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (criminal force to deter public official from discharge of duty; Obstructing public servant in discharge of duty; theft; criminal act by several persons).
