FIA illegally shut down Axact: CEO’s wife
She was addressing the Senate Standing Committee for Interior headed by Senator Rehman Malik
ISLAMABAD:
Ayesha Sheikh, the wife of Axact CEO Shoaib Sheikh, on Tuesday said her and her husband’s businesses had been shut down even though there was no complainant against them.
In her statement before the Senate Standing Committee for Interior headed by Senator Rehman Malik, she said the Federal Investigation Agency had prepared cases against her and other women. “I am a housewife but my name has been placed on the Exit Control List,” she said. “All the money we earned was declared before the State Bank.”
‘Fake degree empire’ collapses: Axact CEO nailed
Ayesha said FIA illegally closed down Axact offices. She said the authority was using delay tactics so that her husband could not get bail. She added that around 8,000 Axact employees have lost their jobs. Their salaries can only be paid if the bank accounts of the organisation are unfrozen.
Ayesha said a media trial had brought the trouble Axact faces today. She said a newspaper published the story of a case against Shoaib Sheikh before it actually happened and that it was the result of a conspiracy. When Senator Javed Abbasi asked as to who had hatched the conspiracy, Ayesha said that everyone knows who without naming anyone.
