Haripur jail: Death row inmate dies of cardiac arrest

Sher, a resident of Peshawar, was awarded the death sentence in 2006 by a trial court for the rape of a minor girl

HARIPUR:
A 45-year-old prisoner on death row died in the early hours of Monday, jail authorities said. Nawab Sher complained of chest pain at around midnight and was shifted to the jail hospital from his death cell for treatment, but could not survive and died at around 3am, officials said. Jail hospital sources said Sher died of cardiac arrest. Sher, a resident of Peshawar, was awarded the death sentence in 2006 by a trial court for the rape of a minor girl.
