Atiqa odho case: Hearing adjourned till Dec 12

Rawalpindi. Hearing into the liquor recovery case against film and television star Atiqa Odho has been adjourned till December 12.
Witnesses will be cross-examined at the next hearing. The magistrate has also summoned two more witnesses in the case.
The actress has been excused from appearing in person before the court. Odho, a former member of Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League, was detained at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on June 5, 2011, after two bottles of liquor were recovered from her luggage.
She was arrested after former Supreme Court chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry took a suo motu notice.
The actress was booked on June 6, 2011 under Article 4 of the Prohibition Hadd Order 1979, which provides for a maximum two-year imprisonment or whipping not exceeding 30 stripes, and a fine for anyone who owns possesses or keeps in his [or her] custody any intoxicant.
