Skiing: Pakistan depart for Winter Games

The Pakistan national ski team departed to participate in the first South Asian Winter Games to be held in India.

The Pakistan national ski team departed to participate in the first South Asian Winter Games to be held in India from January 14. The contingent, also includes the first Pakistani Winter Olympian Muhammad Abbas from Pakistan Air Force.


The first South Asian Winter Games, which are expected to be attended by all the SAARC nations, have a variety of snow games including ski sports. Pakistan will compete in the slalom, giant slalom, cross-country and biathlon events. The team is also scheduled to participate in the Open Ski Championship from January 7 to 9 before the Games.
