Paternal foible: Mother gets custody of ‘abandoned’ children
Waseem said their marriage had later broken down

The Child Welfare and Protection Bureau (CWPB) on Tuesday handed over three children who were kicked out by their father late on Monday in Shadman area to their mother. Mahvish, the mother of the three, told the judge that their father had abandoned them. She said he was a drug addict. Mahvish said he had also beaten her. Locals had tipped-off police and the CWPB after finding Zain, Ahsan and Hussain languishing near a roundabout in Samanabad area. CWPB Spokesperson Waseem said the department was still looking into the incident despite the court having granted the children’s custody to Mahvish. He said the father of the children was a drug addict. Waseem said he had gotten married to Mahvish in court. He said his family had never reconciled with the marriage. Waseem said their marriage had later broken down.
