With immediate effect: Arms licences suspended by Sindh govt

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh, under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, suspended all kinds of arms licences in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad division, with immediate effect and till November 28. The action has been taken to avoid any untoward incident during the second phase of local bodies’ polls. According to a notification, the ban will not apply on security forces, law enforcement agencies and all security guards of private companies. However, police and personnel of other law enforcing agencies, including Rangers, Frontier Constabulary Forces and all Security Guards of Private Companies, will not display or carry weapons wearing ordinary clothes.
