ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court stayed on Tuesday a Sindh High Court (SHC) verdict to demolish Moon Gardens residency constructed on land belonging to the Pakistan Railways Cooperative Housing Society in Karachi.
The apex court directed the residency builders to submit Rs100 million: Rs50 million in cash and the remaining with related documents along with a bank guarantee.
The decision was issued after the builder accepted the residential facility had been erected in violation of the rules and regulations, saying the 200 families in the complex had no knowledge of the illegalities involved.

On September 29, the SHC directed the police and Sindh Building Control Authority to get the building vacated and demolished, only to suspend its order till November 18.
