Agitation: Faisalabad bar extends strike for LHC bench

Lawyers led by the District Bar Association observed a strike on Saturday to press for their demand for a Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench in Faisalabad. A spokesman of the District Bar Association said an LHC division bench was a legitimate demand of the people. He said the association had launched a protest movement under which lawyers were regularly observing a two-day (on Friday and Saturday) every week. He said the duration of the strike had been extended. “Now lawyers will observe a strike every Friday, Saturday and Monday besides remaining away from the courts after noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” he said. He said lawyers would continue their protest till an LHC bench was established in Faisalabad.
