Making money: Seminar held on home-based employment
The Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP) Karachi chapter held a seminar on Saturday, in a bid to spread awareness of home-based employment opportunities.
Women Engineer Committee chairperson Asifa Aleem said the concept of working from home in Pakistan is relatively new, but it is being increasingly accepted. “With a bit of planning, it can be a very lucrative opportunity.”
Meanwhile, IEP Think Tank Committee Chairman Nooruddin Ahmed stressed on the role of women engineers and their contribution to the country’s development.
He said women’s inclusion in the workforce was extremely crucial in the modern world. “Our aim is to guide the government on infrastructure policymaking.
“In this regard, women engineers can play a central role as they no longer hold a minority position and are on equal footing.
The rising cost has made it essential that women contribute to the society in general and the economy in particular.”
