The Balochistan Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution demanding allocation of funds for the provincial projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The resolution pointed out that the federal government had not included any provincial project in the multibillion-dollar economic corridor. Deputy Speaker Quddus Bizenjo chaired the session on Thursday.

The resolution, which was tabled by the parliamentary leader of National Party Zamruk Khan Achakzai, said: “The CPEC is very important since it starts from Balochistan and will create thousands of jobs for people of the province.

It is ironic that the Federal National Highways informed the assembly that the government has not allocated any project for the Eastern Highway,” even though, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced projects for it”.
