Double Shah Scam: NAB told to ensure payment in a month
They asked the court to order the bureau to return their entire claim
LAHORE:
A division bench of Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to ensure payment to two people affected by the Double Shah investment fraud within a month. Sahibzada Nasir Ali and Nisar Ahmad told the court in their petition that the NAB had paid them Rs600,000 out of their Rs10.1 million claim. They asked the court to order the bureau to return their entire claim. A recovery officer of the NAB told the bench that the process of returning investments to those affected by the scam was still in progress. He said auction of some of properties owned by Shah and his agents had been stayed by various courts. The bench directed the officer to return the amount claimed by the petitioners within a month and submit a compliance report to the court.
