Zeroing in : ‘Load-shedding to end by 2018’

The Minister said Balloki power plant would generate affordable electricity and job opportunities in the country

ISLAMABAD: All out efforts were being made to eliminate load-shedding till 2018, Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said. While talking in Radio Pakistan’s Current Affairs programme, he said about 10,000 to 12,000 megawatt of electricity would be produced under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor initiative. The Minister said Balloki power plant would generate affordable electricity and job opportunities in the country. He said work was under way to complete nuclear energy project by 2018. Pakistan has also finalised a LNG agreement with Qatar, which would help produce affordable electricity, he added.
