Never faced any issues in India: Fawad Khan
The actor says he will invite Shah Rukh Khan to visit Peshawar
PESHAWAR:
Peshawar saw the humanitarian side of Fawad Khan today as he attended the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) and Research Centre's Tree Plantation event in the city.
The actor -- who was accompanied by his wife and son -- was the chief guest at the event.
Hospitality in India is amazing, you feel at home: Fawad Khan
Talking to media, Fawad addressed the ongoing cases of intolerance in India and broke his silence on being targeted by Hindu extremist organisation, Shiv Sena. “I have never faced any issues working in India. The groups that work against Pakistan should be ignored because there are similar groups present in Pakistan too. We as artists should ignore such groups and concentrate on our work,” the Khoobsurat actor said.
Shiv Sena has pledged not to let Fawad and Mahira promote their films in Maharashtra. Mahira will be making her grand Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Raees which will release on Eid next year. Fawad has already completed shooting for Kapoor and Sons featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. He will also make a cameo appearance in Karan Johar's next directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which features A-listers Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma.
At the event in Peshawar, Fawad also said that he will invite Shah Rukh Khan to visit his hometown. "Peshawar is very beautiful and peaceful, and I will invite Shahrukh Khan to visit his native city," he said.

Fawad commended SKMCH and spoke about his old association with the institution, saying, "The legacy of SKMCH has made us all very proud."
"I have been participating in the fundraising campaigns for Shaukat Khanum Hospital since my childhood. I take great pride in giving back to the community and offer my support to SKMCH in Peshawar," he added.
I was bullied in school, says Fawad Khan
Last month Mahira Khan and Hadiqa Kiani also actively participated in the hospital's campaign for raising breast cancer awareness.
