Irregularities: LHC orders recounting of UC-39 votes
Forrm-11 had not been filed as essential information regarding the number of votes was missing
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court on Tuesday ordered votes polled in the recent local government elections in UC-39 to be recounted. Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan issued the directive after hearing a petition by losing candidate Shujauddin Dar of the PML-N. Dar alleged that irregularities on part of ECP staff had resulted in his defeat. The counsel for the petitioner said Form-11 had not been filed as essential information regarding the number of votes was missing. He said column six of the form had also been amended with the signatures of the presiding officer. On conclusion of arguments, Justice Khan directed the ECP to recount the votes and report to LHC.
