Bang-on trend: Radiating in red on the red carpet
Striking red dresses as celeb favourites for the winter
A bevy of Hollywood A-listers sizzled on the red carpet at this year’s Glamour Women of The Year Awards. Each star made her presence known with her on-point stylistic choices. We spotted striking red dresses as celeb favourites for the winter and boy, do we think we should follow suit!
Spicin’ it up
Setting the red carpet on fire was Hollywood style queen Victoria Bechkam. Often seen sporting outfits in muted colours, the fashion icon looked radiant as she switched up her style in favour of a bright red floor-length strappy gown. The striking crimson-coloured dress from her own fashion line clung to her frame as she showed off her toned shoulders and arms. Victoria had her hair styled loosely over her shoulders, keeping her make-up minimal for the fiesta. Bushy eyebrows and smoky eyes complemented her beaming look. We love how effortlessly stylish she looked with no jewellery except for a gold band ring. 10/10 for the former Spice Girl.
Celebrity sightings: Suit up and look suave
Smokin’ hot in leather
Selena Gomez killed the evening in a red leather Valentino mini dress and she chose to mix-and-match different fabrics that added texture to her ensemble. Selena donned an all-red dress with long sheer sleeves and a white collar for a different yet chic look. A form-fitting bodice cinched in at her waist and flared out at the bottom, rounding off her glowing appeal. Accessorising her look with Charlotte Olympia metallic silver peep-toe heels and Jacob and Co jewellery, her silver rings finished her look. Styling her hair in middle-parting is Selena’s run-of-the-mill look, so this time around, she experimented by side-parting her hair and letting it down in loose waves.
Less is more
Actor Amy Schumer chose to keep it simple and still managed to take our breath away in an Alexander McQueen red dress. With a little puff at the shoulders and flared sleeves, Amy had her hair pulled back in a bun. Contrasting black nail colour and black winged eye liner made her look stand out from the crowd. We love how the starlet opted for Giuseppe Zanotti strappy heels in a different shade of red and didn’t go for contrasting footwear as many would have done.
