Two-day visit: Tajik president arrives on Thursday
The visit is part of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries

A high-level delegation from Tajikistan, led by the country’s President Emomali Rahmon, is expected to visit Pakistan from November 12-13. Rahmon is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Thursday for a two-day visit, in what will be his sixth state tour of Pakistan. He is expected to be accompanied by ministers and other senior officials along with a number of leading Tajik business leaders. During his visit, the Tajik President will meet with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain. At the top of the agenda would be discussions over the Central Asia-South Asia (CASA) 1000 power project which aims to ease energy shortages in Pakistan and utilising surplus power in Tajikistan to the tune of 1,300 Megawatts.
