Air, Navy chiefs review PAF, PN units during exercise

The ongoing military exercise, Seaspark 2015, had provided an opportunity to validate joint war fighting concepts, said Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman as he reviewed the exercise along with Navy Chief Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah.
Chiefs of the two military wings witnessed joint operations by Pakistan Navy (PN) units and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft during the exercise on Monday, a spokesperson said.

The two first flew over units in north Arabian Sea in PAF’s Karakorum Eagle-03 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AWACS), before receiving a briefing on a navy vessel.
PAF chief Air Chief Marshal Aman emphasised the role of AWACS, calling them a war winning tool. Admiral Zakaullah also commented on the combat potential of AWACs in maritime operation environment, noting that the current exercise had given troops from both forces exposure in near realistic environments. Aman said that the exercise provided an opportunity to validate the joint war fighting concepts.

The navy chief said that seamless integration between navy and air force was essential for synergetic response to prevailing threats. While talking to troops, he underlined the importance of maintaining constant vigil at sea in view of the prevailing security environment.
