PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) expelled on Sunday its MPA from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Amjad Khan Afridi from the party over his conduct in the provincial local government elections that led to defeat for PTI.

According to a notification issued by PTI, the committee was chaired by Shah Mehmood Qureshi whose decisions were approved by Imran.

Afridi, who held the position of adviser to the chief minister on sports, culture and museums is the second PTI member, after Ziaullah Khan Afridi, to have been expelled by the party.

PTI to serve notices to Azam Swati, Yasin Khalil for ‘working against’ party policy in LG polls

The notification says MPA Shehryar Afridi and MPA Ziaullah Bangash acted irresponsibly, and were therefore being reprimanded for their conduct.

“Mensehra Senator Azam Swati [also] failed to adequately protect the interests of the party, and the committee has decided that he shall have no role in the affairs of PTI Mansehra in future, and a reprimand will be issued to him,” the statement added.

After the K-P LG polls, the PTI had issued notices to former provincial president Swati, and MNA Shehryar, among other MPAs, providing them a right to defend themselves but they could not refute the allegations.
