Horrible situation: Mother, daughter drink poison

Medical superintendent of the Civil Hospital said the poisoned milk appears to be the cause of the deaths

HYDERABAD:
The widow of a slain political worker and her daughter were found dead at their home in Quaidabad on Saturday. According to the doctors, 32-year-old Yasmin, alias Rani, and eight-year-old daughter, Munaiza, had ingested poisoned milk. Rani’s other daughter, six-year-old Maria, was found unconscious and is now receiving medical treatment at the Civil Hospital Hyderabad’s paediatric ward. Rani’s husband, 34-year-old Ajmal Khilji, was found dead in Jamshoro approximately seven months after his enforced disappearance. His body was thrown on a road in the Kotri Site area on July 28. Police sources said that Khilji worked for a banned outfit. Medical superintendent of the Civil Hospital, Dr Wajid Memon, said the poisoned milk appears to be the cause of the deaths. The SHO of the Sakhi Pir police station said that the relatives claim the woman committed suicide because of their financial problems.
