Timely disbursement: Another Rs4b released for quake victims
Minister for Local Government said the relief process was expedited to protect the affected people from winter

The provincial government on Saturday released another tranche of Rs4 billion to the relief accounts of affected districts to protect quake victims from the harsh winter.According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the provincial government issued a total of Rs7 billion thus far.
The details provided by the department showed that district Shangla was allocated Rs1 billion, Lower Dir Rs1 billion, Swat Rs800 million, Chitral Rs656 million, Buner Rs250 million and Upper Dir Rs143 million. Also, Battagram got Rs113 million, Lower Kohistan Rs100 million, Peshawar Rs70 million, Abbotabad Rs56 Million, Haripur Rs15 million, Swabi Rs10 million, Bannu Rs10 million, Karak Rs10 million, Charsadda Rs10 million and Mardan Rs5 million. Talking to The Express Tribune, Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan said families of the deceased were compensated and amounts had also been released for damaged houses. He claimed to have personally distributed cheques among 2,500 families whose houses were completely damaged. He said the relief process was expedited to protect the affected people from winter.
