Connecting point : Gwadar ‘set to become regional economic hub’

He said that opportunities would be provided for professional training in different fields in Pakistan

Gwadar is set to become an economic hub connecting the Middle East with Central Asia, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said on Thursday.


The development of Gwadar Port will boost the economy of the whole region, Ambassador Sun said addressing a gathering of media persons, businessmen, tribal elders and politicians organised by Balochistan Economic Forum.


“This year, the cargo handling capacity of Gwadar Deep Sea Port has been increased due to joint efforts of Pakistan and China. Gwadar is going to become economic hub of the region which would be connected with the Middle East and Central Asia,” he said.


He said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor would provide road link to many countries and also connect Balochistan with other parts of Pakistan.  He said that opportunities would be provided for professional training in different fields in Pakistan in collaboration with China.
