KARACHI:
Representatives of the Jamaat-e-Islami and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) held separate meetings with the Rangers director-general Major General Bilal Akbar on Thursday. Both the parties were tight-lipped about the meeting. However, the spokesperson for Rangers said that issues pertaining to local government elections were discussed and the leaders of both the parties have agreed to continue the operation in Karachi. After the meetings, Sindh home minister Sohail Anwar Siyal also reached the Rangers Headquarters and met with the Rangers chief. MQM has been protesting on various forums against the ongoing operation in Karachi, calling it an operation against the party.
