Journalists at risk: TUJ protests Zaman Mehsud’s killing
A banned outfit claimed responsibility for the attack

The Tribal Union of Journalists held a protest in Jamrud on Thursday over the killing of Zaman Mehsud, a senior journalist from South Waziristan, in Tank earlier this week. A large number of journalists marched from Khyber Bazaar to Bab-e-Khyber to condemn the brutal murder. Protesters shouted slogans against the incident and urged the government to arrest the perpetrators. Mehsud, 40, was killed while riding his motorcycle. He was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Tank, and later the District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan where he succumbed to his injuries. Mehsud hailed from South Waziristan Agency but had settled in Gomal where he worked with several media initiatives. A banned outfit claimed responsibility for the attack.
