IGP Nasir Khan Durrani awarded young counter-terrorism department (CTD) policemen for their excellent performance in the field of investigation. The ceremony was held at CCPO on Wednesday, stated a handout.

Durrani awarded Inspector Hastam Khan and Constable Kamal with cash prizes and commendation certificates.

While addressing people at the occasion, Durrani appreciated the investigation skills of the awardees. He said thorough investigation was the real yardstick of the performance of the police. “Investigation was the backbone in all police activities,” IGP said. “Keeping in mind its significance and effectiveness, all resources will be utilised to improve its standard further.”


CTD police team had arrested two culprits, Abdur Rauf, son of Ali Haider, and Haji Rahim, son of Gul Nawaz, involved in several kidnapping and murder cases within the jurisdiction of Mattani police station. CTD police had also confiscated a shopping bag from them which contained 2.35 kilogrammes of explosive substances, 48 inches of primacord and three detonators. The nabbed criminals had been working for Tariq Geeder Group that brings explosives from Frontier Region Peshawar for its militant activities.

The investigation led to both criminals confessing their crimes at court. They were sentenced to 14 years imprisonment and had to forfeit all their property.
