Development projects: ‘KCR to be revived’

Governor Sindh said that seven corridors have already been identified for mass transit in the Karachi master plan

KARACHI:
The abandoned urban rail transit plan of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) will be revived, said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan while addressing a meeting on Wednesday. For the project’s revival, the Japan International Cooperation Agency was told to give a timeline for the project if they were still interested in it. Reviewing the Bus Rapid Transit System of Orange Line, Yellow Line, Blue Line and Brown Line, Khan said that seven corridors have already been identified for mass transit in the Karachi master plan. With the completion of mass transit projects, Karachi will become a modern urban city and its full economic potential can be used for the betterment of the nation and country, said the governor.
