NAB meets to streamline advertisement release system
Consolidated and comprehensive system was advised

NAB’s Prevention Committee on Press Information Department (PID) held a meeting on Tuesday to streamline the advertisement release system.
According to a handout, NAB acting chairperson Muhammad Imtiaz Tajwar, who is also the president of the committee, chaired the meeting in the federal capital. Others in attendance were representatives of PID, ABC, PTV, PEMRA, APNS and advertising agencies.
NAB orders transparency in govt ad payments
A representative of the PID gave a presentation on the initiatives taken to revamp the system. A threadbare discussion was held on further improvement and to suggest measures to curb corruption in the public-sector advertisement release system. The role of PID, ABC and other stakeholders was also discussed in detail.
Weaknesses in the system were identified and input and suggestions were shared by all members of the committee. Tajwar said he wanted to involve the secretary Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage as well as the Pakistan Broadcasting Association and representatives of PBA in devising a consolidated and comprehensive system.
The revised structure would be put in place by the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage and its attached department ABC in line with directives from the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
NAB urges law to protect whistleblowers
NAB, under section 33C of NAO, has the mandate to carry out state functions for the reformation and elimination of corruption from government departments.
After finalisation of recommendations by all stakeholders, NAB will forward the recommendations to the Ministry of Information for implementation.
