
This was announced by the Wildlife Department Director General Khalid Ayaz at a meeting on Tuesday.
He said the decision was taken in view of the proposals received from the regional deputy directors and honorary game wardens. He said a notification would soon be issued in this regard.
Ayaz said the permission was restricted to hunting of partridges. Hunting of no other wildlife would be allowed, he said.
The tehsils for which the permission has been approved are: Hassan Abdal, Pindi Ghaib, Kalar Syedan, Taxila, Talagang, Pind Dadan Khan, Kot Momin, Bhalwal, Bhakkar, Khushab, Mianwali, Gujrat, Kharian, Phalia, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Pasrur, Daska, Zafarwal, Muridke, Sharaqpur, Nankana Sahib, Chunian, Pattoki, Depalpur, Chak Jhumra, Samundari, Toba Tek Singh, Gojra, Ahmedpur Sial, Bhowana, Chichawatni, Pakpattan, Kabirwala, Mailsi, Kehror Pakka, Shujabad, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Jatoi and Kot Chitta.
The director general said hunters would be required to obtain a permit letter from the department. He said the decision to allow hunting of partridges for two months was taken under the Schedule (I) of the Bag Limit Amendment Act of 2007. Use of automatic weapons, repeater guns and jeeps will be prohibited.
