RAWALPINDI:

The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has imposed a complete ban on leave for all anti-dengue field workers across the district after stagnant water and abandoned sites were found in multiple areas, leading to an increase in dengue larvae sightings.

All anti-dengue staff have been issued warning notices, stating that any employee found taking unauthorised leave will be dismissed from service. Leave has been suspended indefinitely.

Due to a severe shortage of field staff, the District Health Authority has also requested permission to recruit additional workers.

In a circular issued by the Chief Executive Officer of the DHA, it was stated that in view of the rising detection of dengue larvae and staff shortages, all forms of leave for personnel engaged in dengue prevention and control activities have been suspended with immediate effect.
