Lost ones: CPWB picks up 13 children in a week

Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) officials took 13 children into custody from various parts of Faisalabad last week.

Child Protection Officer Ali Abid Naqvi on Monday said among the children were Saeedur Rehman, son of Abdullah; Sharafat, son of Sher Khan; Saqib, son of Arif; Haleema Bibi, daughter of Bagh; Ali, son of Sher; Ali Raza, son of Gulbaz; Juma Khan, son of Abdur Rehman; Muhammad Sarwar, son of Muhammad Javaid; Dilawar, son of Anwar; Aaqib, son of Hakim; Sajid, son of Liaqat; Shahzaib, son of Muhammad Javaid; and Abdullah, son of Umar Daraz.


He said the children had been picked up from Lorry Adda, Kutchery Bazaar, GTS Chowk, Novelty Bridge, Jail Road, Gumti Chowk and Chiniot Bazaar where they were found picking various items from garbage heaps and begging. The children were housed at the CPWB.

Naqvi said at present, there are 54 children at the centre where they are provided quality education, vocational training, residential, treatment and recreational faculties.
