District Returning Officer Javed Khan Afridid said that the work on the model polling stations was being carried out with the consultation of all political parties and panels contesting the local government polls.
He said that around 1901 model polling scheme will be set up in union councils and their strength could go up if required so. He said around 70 per cent work on the project has been completed and the rest of task will be completed by mid November.
Afridi said that he himself visits model polling stations almost on a daily basis to oversee the work on the scheme. He said that polling stations could be relocated if parties contesting elections objected to locations.
