Reckless driving: One dead, 18 injured in road accidents across K-P
JUI-F K-P chief among those who were wounded
MINGORA/KOHAT/DARGAI:
At least one person was killed while 18 others, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl K-P chief Maulana Gul Naseeb, were injured in separate road accidents across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.
Swat
A man was killed while five others were injured in separate road mishaps in Swat.
According to an official of Swat police, Sabz Ali Khan, two passenger vans collided in Kanju area of the district.
“Shahzada, a resident of Kanju, was killed on the spot while four others were injured and rushed to the hospital,” he said. In another mishap, a motorcyclist was wounded when a speeding car ran him over in Ningolai areas of Kabal.
Police have registered FIRs for both incidents and started investigation.
Lower Dir
JUI-F K-P chief Maulana Gul Naseeb and his driver were en route to Peshawar from a village in Chakdara, Lower Dir when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car rammed into a road divider in Dargai area of Malakand.
Speaking to the media, an official of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Dargai said, Naseeb and his driver had received minor injuries. They were rushed to the hospital and were subsequently discharged.
According to an eyewitness, Naseeb’s car was also damaged during the incident.
Kohat
In a separate incident, 11 people, including children, were injured when two vehicles collided near Kohat Toll Plaza.
According to Kohat DPO Fazal Naeem, a passenger coach travelling to Kohat from Peshawar collided with a small van that was en route to Peshawar from Kohat near Kohat Tunnel. At least, 11 passengers from both vehicles were critically injured.
The injured were rushed to Kohat Development Authority Hospital. The police registered an FIR against the drivers and started investigation.
